ABLE for Women—The Entrepreneurship Center is a strategic initiative of The Women's College of the University of Denver. Women entrepreneurs and their businesses make a big difference to the Colorado economy1.
- Denver has an estimated with 15.4 billion in sales, up 54% in the last 10 years
- Colorado has an estimated 173,900 women owned firms with 25.3 billion in sales, up 84 % since 1997
Women have a harder time raising money for ventures than men. But there are now emerging angel investors who are women interested in investing in women. The ABLE Advisory Board just heard two women entrepreneurs talk about their recent "pitches" at the Angel Capital Summit, and the continuing challenges of finding investors who don't pigeon them as "life style" entrepreneurs. These two, and many others in the metro area, have serious products and companies on the rise. ABLE is starting to organize a group of investors who will take a serious look at these entrepreneurs and their ventures. For more information, ask ABLE.
This makes sense - and it will make money too.
ABLE for Women will provide information, resources, and support to help women entrepreneurs succeed.

"....You helped me so much in so many different ways. Your support gave me more confidence. And giving me the opportunity to present at your ABLE Profit Matters meeting (my very first out of stealth mode) was so helpful...."
