About the BA in Information Technology Studies

A bachelor of arts with a major in Information Technology Studies is offered in conjunction with DU's Department of Computer Science. About the Certificate in Information Technology Studies

Want to add technology skills to your resume? Whether you are a current student at The Women's College or already have a Bachelor's degree, the Information Technology Studies Certificate will provide you with a credential that attests to your having finished a complete course of study in computing, from computing fundamentals to programming to systems design and implementation. Additionally, the certificate is available to students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in another field and wish to add a technology credential to their portfolios.

Academic Requirements

To receive the certificate in information technology studies, students must: Complete 28 quarter hours of course work (listed below) with at least a B- average.

Students must also prepare an oral presentation, demonstrate the project completed in COMP and present a portfolio of all work completed during the course of study. Presentations will be made to a panel consisting of a faculty member from the Dep't. of Math and Computer Science, a professional from the field of Information Technology, and the Director of the ITS program.

Awarding of the certificate will depend on a positive recommendation from the panel. The criteria for this recommendation are that the project must be both reliable and significant; the written documentation should be clear and unambiguous, and should include technical and user documentation; and the presentation of the project should be professional and concise.
