The Communication Center
In individual or group appointments, the Communication Center provides tutoring to enhance students' skills in oral communication, public speaking, and related communication behaviors. By providing support services in speech preparation, presentational experience, relaxation techniques, and researching communication topics, the Center helps students improve their abilities in and out of class and develop more confidence as effective communicators.
The Computing Center
The Computing Center holds weekly drop-in sessions for general computer instruction or programming languages associated with Information Technology Studies courses. Regardless of their major, students can visit the Computing Center for assistance in computing-related questions or course work.
The Mathematics Lab
The TWC mathematics instructors offer regularly scheduled Math Lab sessions designed to help students with questions or concerns pertaining to mathematics and statistics courses. Assistance is tailored to the individual student's requests about general concepts or specific topics. Students can visit the Math Lab sessions with quick questions or stay to do homework and seek assistance as questions and concerns arise.
The Writing Center
The Writing Center assists students with writing projects that include class writing assignments, personal statements, resumes and cover letters, and creative writing. Writing Center consultants work with students at any point in the writing process: brainstorming, developing a thesis, organizing, revising, using sources, and editing. Students may also come to the Writing Center with questions about grammar. Students have access to the Writing Center at the Chambers Center and at Penrose Library.
Tutoring Services
In cooperation with faculty members who teach computing, Spanish, accounting, and Natural Sciences courses, The Women's College offers drop-in tutoring sessions with graduate students in these courses to enhance and extend students' learning opportunities. |
