Scholarships for New Students
The Women's College awards a significant number of partial scholarships for students entering the college. These scholarships help students offset some of the expense of a college education, and they will follow the students through graduation.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and are considered individually for scholarship eligibility. For more information, contact our Adviser at 303.871.6115.
Scholarship Criteria and Process
All students who apply for admission to The Women's College are eligible for consideration for DU funded scholarship aid if they complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2007-2008 academic year.
- Complete The Women's College Admission Application.
- Apply for a US Department of Education PIN at www.pin.ed.gov.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form found at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The school code for DU is 001371.

Vision Scholarship
One half-tuition Vision Scholarship will be awarded for fall quarter to a student new to The Women's College. Please click here for more information and an application. Application deadline is August 4, 2008 at 4:30 pm.
Scholarships for Continuing Students
The Women's College of the University of Denver offers a variety of scholarships for women pursuing their education at the college. Our scholarships for continuing students are only awarded to students of The Women's College and applications are due at various times throughout the academic year. Some are based upon demonstrated financial need, others upon merit.
Alliance for Professional Women
The Alliance for Professional Women offers an annual scholarship to a woman who demonstrates the desire to
improve her economic opportunities, enhance her career, and create a better life for herself and her family.
The scholarship is awarded to a junior with financial need and a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Giving
back to the community is an important goal of the Alliance, and the organization would like for scholarship
recipient to be involved in her community. The Alliance Scholarship is awarded annually in the spring to a
student and may be awarded on a continuous basis to the same student until she graduates.
CWC Alumnae Association Scholarship
The Colorado Women's College Alumnae Association (CWCAA) offers scholarships twice each year to one or
more students at The Women's College who exhibit extraordinary academic achievement, community involvement
and leadership. Financial need is required. These scholarships are available to current students and
to those who have already submitted an application for admission to The Women's College. The amounts of the
scholarships vary. Scholarship recipients are selected each fall and spring, and the awards are to be used
in the following two quarters.
Firefly Fund Scholarship
The Firefly Fund Scholarship is awarded to a sophomore who has completed at least 45 credits at
The Women's College) with a grade point average of 3.0. She must have unmet financial need of at least
$5,000, and submit an essay that describes her personal, professional, and academic goals. The scholarship
is renewable based on the students continued eligibility, and the recipient is required to submit an annual
report of her progress to the Firefly Fund.
Harris Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of The Denver Foundation and the original donor, Florence Carrie Harris,
The Women's College is proud to offer the Harris Scholarship. This is an annual gift that is awarded
to a student of The Women's College.
Helen B. Davis Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Helen B. Davis, a well-known artist in the Boulder/Denver
art community and former faculty member of the Colorado Women's College. The scholarship is awarded
to a student with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. In addition to her
academic achievement, the student must be able to demonstrate a passion for life.
Margaret M. Carlson Memorial Scholarship
The Margaret M. Carlson Memorial Scholarship was established by Paul Bauer, Clinical Professor in the
Daniels College of Business, in honor of his sister. The scholarship is established to support a
promising Information Technology Studies student. For this scholarship, merit is a primary consideration
and financial need is a secondary consideration.
National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution
The National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution awards an annual scholarship to
students of The Women's College. The awards are given to students with demonstrated financial need
and academic achievement.
Quinette Family Endowed Scholarship
The Quinette Family Endowed Scholarship was established by DU alumna, Jane Quinette, and her family.
Multiple scholarships from this endowment are awarded annually to support students enrolled at The
Women's College who demonstrate financial need and a strong commitment and effort in pursuit of
their undergraduate education.
The Women's College Alumnae Association Scholarship
The Women's College Alumnae Association offers a scholarship each year to one or more students at
The Women's College who exhibit extraordinary academic achievement, community involvement and
leadership. Academic merit is the primary consideration for this scholarship.
Triple J Scholarship
The Triple J Scholarship was established in 1999 by Jean James and her daughter, Barbara, in honor of
Stewart James, a former member of the English Department faculty at the University of Denver. The
scholarship was founded to provide support to students enrolled at The Women's College. Preference
will be given to single-parent applicants, and the scholarship recipient is required to be twenty-eight
years of age or older. The Triple J Scholarship is awarded annually in the spring to a student and may
be awarded on a continuous basis to the same student.
Viola Vestal Coulter Scholarship
For more than 50 years, the Viola Vestal Coulter Foundation has made annual grants to institutions of higher
learning throughout the western United States. The foundation was organized and initially funded in 1938 by
William Jesse Coulter in memory of his first wife, who died in 1935. The primary purpose of the foundation
has remained consistent: to help deserving and needy students achieve a college degree. The foundation
funds several scholarships at the University of Denver, including annual awards to students enrolled
at The Women's College.
Financial Seminars
The Women's College offers financial advising and a series of Financial Seminars to prepare students for spring and summer scholarship applications. More »
