Want to add technology skills to your resume? Whether you are a current student at The Women's College or already have a Bachelor's degree, the Information Technology Studies Certificate will provide you with a credential that attests to your having finished a complete course of study in computing, from computing fundamentals to programming to systems design and implementation. Additionally, the certificate is available to students who have previously earned a baccalaureate degree in another field and wish to add a technology credential to their portfolios.
To receive the certificate in information technology studies, students must: Complete 28 quarter hours of course work (listed below) with at least a B- average.
Students must also prepare an oral presentation, demonstrate the project completed in COMP and present a portfolio of all work completed during the course of study. Presentations will be made to a panel consisting of a faculty member from the Dep't. of Math and Computer Science, a professional from the field of Information Technology, and the Director of the ITS program.
Awarding of the certificate will depend on a positive recommendation from the panel. The criteria for this recommendation are that the project must be both reliable and significant; the written documentation should be clear and unambiguous, and should include technical and user documentation; and the presentation of the project should be professional and concise.
